Founded in 1995 in Quebec City, in Exo’s basement, PHONO came to life at a time when hip-hop was shared through digging, tape trading, and vinyl imports. A place born from passion, respect for the culture, and love of sound.
In 2009, with the launch of the phono.ca online store, PHONO opened its musical selection beyond borders and reached an international community of enthusiasts.
Since 2025, PHONO.ca has begun a new chapter with an expanded offering of vinyl, CDs, and cassettes covering a variety of styles, all carefully selected. True to its original mission, PHONO continues to champion quality, authenticity, and the sharing of a timeless musical passion.
